I am looking to rebuild the deck a little bit this winter for my dad on his 425 w/a 60" deck. One question I have is what's the difference between the mulching blades and the standard blades, that would make the standard blades a few bucks more?
He doesn't have a mulching kit so I guess that means I would need the standard blades, but I was wondering why they would cost more than the mulching ones, which I would think would cost more. Not a big deal, the dealers website puts either set under $75. I'll have to get the serial # off the deck and tractor and then I just plan to go in to the dealer some time and order everything I need.
Main reason for doing it is that one of the blades is bent (rocks), and they're all worn pretty far, so the corners are all rounded off so bad I can't get it out when I sharpen them unless I remove a LOT of metal. And then they'd have to be replaced anyway.
