1967 Economy Power King 1612 (?)

Well, today I looked at a Power King 1612 for sale, and thought
this would be a good place to post my question.

The thing is, this is my first Power King, and I wanted to know how much it is
acctually worth, along with some general info. It's a '67 1612, with mower deck,
that he says cut the grass with it all summer long, but the points went bad
while it was sitting and it now won't start. I checked the compression, and
while it is a little weak, there is no broke connecting rod or stuck valve. It
comes with a front end loader, and a '65 parts tractor that seems complete,
minus the engine cowl (hood), engine, and i think some steering linkages. I
offered him $500 for all of it, and I think he will take it (going to call him
again in a day or two.). Does this seem like a reasonable price? I live in N.E.
Georgia.

Thanks,
Chaz

Hi Chaz I have 7 economy power kings one is a 1967 that i mowed with does a very good job. I one is a 1979 with front end loader very nice tractor the tractor with front end loader is worth 1500 to 2500 dollars

OH MY! You are fixin to waaaayyy overpay on that tractor. I hate to see anyone get ripped off like that. Better walk away from it and hope the seller forgets you were ever there.
By the way, Where did you say the tractor is and whats the sellerz phone #? I'd be glad to call him on your behalf and tell him you are no longer interested! :)

No, I wouldn't want you to go through all that...
...I guess I will have to buy it to make sure no one else gets ripped off.

Chaz :)

Hey I have an Economy with a 14hp Kolher can a guy get motor parts mine threw a rod and dang near popped the spark plug out of the head . Jerry

You can buy all the parts for these new (I think), but if you threw a rod, odds are lots of other stuff is ruined inside. No way to know until it's tore down. I would check eBay for individual parts, and local ads (like craigslist or the paper) for complete engines.

If you want my 12 hp, the tractor works now (stilll needs some work), so I don't plan on taking it apart anytime soon. (Engine runs great now, better compression too, must have had the rings slightly stuck.)
