2004 GX345 Won't Crank

I have a GX345 that won't crank. I put a battery charger on it - at first with regular charge, then another day with trickle charge - but that didn't do anything. Terminals are clean. When I jump it off from a car, it runs fine but the battery light stays on. I was thinking of picking up a battery, but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Thanks. This is a great forum!

You should have the battery load tested. If you have an idiot lite on when the engine is running
your stator or rectifier may be the problem. Check your charging voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running at 1/2 throttle or better with a volt meter set on DC volts. Should be around 14.5 volts.

If you can locate the rectifier you should have around 30 volts AC voltage when the engine is at 1/2 throttle. Use your volt meter set on AC voltage. If you have AC voltage here your rectifier may be defective, but before replacing it I would clean all those terminals on it until shiny and try it it again. Hal

Thank you. I will check it out.
