Hello all I just installed a brand new tecumseh engine on our murray go-cart,filled it with required oil and fresh gasoline but it seems to be not getting any spark could the key switch be bad or is there a way I can by-pass the switch there is a single wire that comes off the key switch and then attaches to the engine. Thanks in advance,Kevin. Also just sold my 1946 2n and was given a Craftsman rider with a 15.5 kohler that needs a little TLC so I will be back.

Disconnect wire from key sw at eng, crank eng & check for spark,I'm assuming this is a recoil start eng,if no spark with lead disconnected, then problem in ign system on eng,if you have spark, problem in key sw or wire that connects to eng grounded to frame between eng & sw.
