Kohler Magnum 18 Breather Question?

I have a Magnum 18 Kohler on my 1715 Cub Cadet. The engine was professionally rebuilt 4 hours ago and now it spits oil out of the breather tube into the air filter.

The crankcase is half a quart below full and I need advice on what might be wrong?

for fun id check compression first to see if its a ring problem. if ok ,could be a crankcase greather valve issue.remember ,when right, the crankcase runs in a vacume,so any bad gaskets will cause oil loss problems

Check the breather, the original ones had a rubber umbrella valve, they deteriorated from use and caused oil to pump into the air filter, kohler redesigned it with a metal breather valve, like used in the K-series, you need to buy a new breather assembly to fix it.
