Could someone help me with the electrical diagram so that I could disable the RIO switch (to allow the garden tractor to reverse with the mower blade engaged)? I have a new Deere 345. Thank you in advance for your help....I intend to re-establish it if I ever sell the machine.

What is it about some people that think safety devices are just in the way. And that they are too smart, fast and strong to get hurt? Visit the rehabilitation wards and talk with all kinds who had the same idea. Don't forget to pay your tax dollars to keep the crippled as well.

The one i REALLY hate on the 345, is the switch that won't allow you to start the motor, and walk away while it warms up!!! Also i like to let it and idle a few mins before i shut it off, BUT, on the Deere, you have to baby sit it!!!

There are safety devices that work good and make things safer. Then there are safety devices that are put in place for the sole purpose to help slow down the onslot of junk lawsuits that don't really make things safer and border on making things usless. The most important safety device is the one between your ears.Too bad people aren't taught to use it.

Just pull up on the pto switch before you go into reverse. Once you are traveling in reverse, you can let go of the switch, and the mower deck will continue to run.

If you want to completely disable it, just go to the transmission, follow the pedal linkage, and move the switch adjustment so the linkage doesn't contact the switch. Don't confuse it with the brake switch, which will be somewhere along the brake pedal linkage.

Why not just pull up on the switch as you back up? I do it all the time on my 335. It takes a little getting used to, but it works. I'd much rather have a working switch if I got into trouble...

There is a switch on the reverse pedal linkage. Pull the plug off of the sitch and put a jumper wire in this plug. It worked on my X495. It should be the same on your 345. Too bad so many of the people who read these boards would rather preach than help a guy out. Good luck.
