When I try to start engine the starter will not disengage and will keep on turning. Only way to stop is disconnect battery. Tried different switch but did not solve problem. Have not yet removed the solinoide . Are these a sealed unit. Is this the likely problem..

If I remember correctly STX38 solenoid is kind of hidden. So jumper cable direct from Battery + to starter lug.
Key on but run position. If starter acts like before i think starter drive may be the problem.
