John Deere 212 Straight Shift Rear End

Hi ,

What kind of rear end ( transmission ) grease or oil is in this rear end ? It's not a hydrosatic but a straight shift. What weight , brand or kind ( type ) should I put in it . Also , how do I check it as well as drain and replace it ? And if I need to identify the rear end first how do I do that ? Thanks for any and all help !

85/140,but 80/90 would also work

Check the axle seals, mine leaked if the unit was not on the level and I had bearing and spline failures. The unit was pretty well used when I got mine. Leo
