Replacement Parts

Has anyone used Caltric replacement parts instead of OEM. They offer 3-month warranty. I'm repairing a 34-year-old lawn tractor and the OEM replacement part is 5 times the cost. I don't see the mower lasting another 34 years.

Thought I was the only one with a 34 year old lawn mower, and I got two of them.

I use aftermarket mower parts all the time. Can't remember the last time I had trouble with them. I try never to buy from the Deere dealer.

I like my old John Deere due to it having a manual gear transmission. Most of my lawn is converted hay meadow with a couple of dead farrows thrown in. I bought it used and it has been a decent mower for me. My backup is 25-year-old Kmart MTD that was given to me. The ride difference between the two is significant.

How about a 60 year old Lawn Boy. I don't mow with it on a regular basis, but it does mow quite well. If it were not for after market parts, many of these machines would never get rebuilt. I have used lots of them.
