Exhaust pipe

I have a cub cadet lawn mower with the Koehler courage 19 hp engine single exhaust pipe. It has broken the exhaust pipe between the engine and the muffler. Replaced the pipe and with 3 hours mowing time new pipe broke. Engine and muffler both mount to main frame of mower. Exhaust pipe not made to muffler it just fits into a hole in the muffler. Muffler is mounted solid with no movement. Any one else had this problem? Solutions or ideas?

Good evening tldnc: I hate to recommend poor workmanship or cheap fixes, BUT, it comes to mind that I had a motor scooter many years ago, where someone made a flexible exhaust connector from some type of flex conduit. a little leaky, but in that location a small leak did not matter..... Just me thinking.

Are the engine mount bolts tight? Raise the hood and start it. Does the engine twist when it first fires and again immediately when you cut it off?

Also, does the engine vibrate or rattle more than it originally did? I have seen some of those Courage engines loose the bearings on the counterweight assembly and then pretty soon they knock themselves apart.
