Plastic gas tanks

Plastic welding with the little hot air torches is the best I think. It can be done with a small soldering iron but results are hit and miss, at least when I do it.

I have used ShoeGoo on cracks. It lasted a few years and then I added more over the top. Welding sounds better but my plastic welding is not the best.

Haven't tried it on gas tanks, but some years ago, I repaired a plastic radiator tank with a patch kit containing an epoxy glue and some cloth patch material. Seemed to work pretty good. Dont remember for sure where I got it, but would bet on O'Reilly's or NAPA. Good luck.

If crack was caused by something rubbing or hitting tank I use epoxy listed for plastic and gas resistant. If not physically damaged I replace tank because it'll soon have another crack to fix.

You might try Bondic. I've used it on a lot of things and have a Weed Eater with a cracked tank but haven't tried it there yet.
