i resurrected tractor Mower is probably 20 yrs pld , Only wants to run in choke position, And it will cut grass like that. The deck is good sahape but ther Hood plastic is brittle as a mason jar , And start too ,,. I have used Carb cleaner and it will run on different levels till carb cleaner clears ,,,. i have not removed the carb Yet ,, But i think I have cleaned every port I can find ,,. Your help is Appreciated ,, JIM H

Seafoam in the tank and run it. Its a 50,50 chance it will clean it up

You have to take the carb off and clean it thoroughly. You didnt say what the motor is, but theyre all pretty easy to r+r.

Yep, taking off the carb is the only way to actually clean it.

I, too would try Seafoam, but you might have to take it apart. Seafoam won't dissolve everything.

Thank You to all that responded , Seafoam did the trick , I was mowing along and jerked into reverse and bounced the frontend forward when the choke setting began to act as it should (starve for air). From that point forward the engine is running and starting , And PULLING like a champ. .
