Hi everybody,

I'm looking for the smallest "real" tractor for my wife's landscaping needs - essentially a lawn mower with a PTO and hydraulic lift for occasional trailer pulling, shrub removal etc. For bigger stuff I already have a Ford 5000 with a loader.

I came across two sub-compact tractors [b:2b565923eb]Satoh Beaver[/b:2b565923eb] and [b:2b565923eb]Iseki H1502[/b:2b565923eb] that I never heard of. The question is w[b:2b565923eb]ho "owns" their parts supply chain nowadays[/b:2b565923eb]? Same question is about sub-compact [b:2b565923eb]Mitsubishi[/b:2b565923eb] tractors.

I couldn't find any dealers locally here in Ontario, [b:2b565923eb]Canada[/b:2b565923eb]. The current Satoh owner told me that he get parts on the eBay, which for me is a cost saving avenue rather than a proper solution.

Other than Kubota B6xxx, what else is out there? It seems like American manufacturers were making either real agricultural tractors for or little lawn mowers, and that only Japanese - with their tiny farm lots - were producing what I'm looking for.

Thanks for all replies in advance.

'd stick with a brand that has local support.

I'd stick with a brand that has local support.

Well, the question is who does support them?

For example, Ford doesn't make tractors anymore. They sold that business long ago. Today, I get Ford tractor parts from my local CNH (CASE New Holland) dealership.

I've read on the internet that Satoh tractors were made by Mitsubishi. So, the question really is: does anybody officially support Mitsubishi tractors on the US/Canada market?

Wikipedia says that Iseki-made tractors were sole as AGCO, Bolens, Challenger, Massey Ferguson and White. I guess I should look up AGCO...

meant that if it were me I'd make sure there is a reliable dealer in the immediate area. In my case, Kubota.

There is no real factory dealer support for either as there are no dealers for those brands. But parts can be had for smaller parts only places that specialize in them.
https://www.satohparts.com/ is one of them. I've owned Satoh and Bolens(Iseki) and never needed a part I couldn't get, just not quickly.

A lot of Satoh parts can be had from IH dealers, but they don't know that. Mitsubishi built some for IH in the 80s and those parts will swap with some Satoh or Mitsubishi branded machines. But, the customer has to do the work to determine that as IH has no info on it.

Same sort of thing with Iseki as they made tractors for a lot of brands.

They are not for everyone or for use where downtime is a big issue. But, on the upside they are very reliable.
