Now that I finally got the photos to load!I find it not user friendly. I shall explain! Third attempt!.
I mounted a belt driven generator on a CC108 using the front PTO pulley, plus several other pulleys, and a spring loaded idler pulley. I made a front weight bar for it to attach to.
I mounted this earlier on previous post , but mounted it lower under the grill. This worked, but hung too low to ground.
Adjustable sheave ( pulley) on generator allows the cub engine to run at about 1/4 throttle to crank gen. At 3600 rpm to produce 110 volts at 60 cycles. I plug in a volt meter(Amazon purchase) to set throttle so as to achieve a range of 108 to 132 volts as specified in operators manual. Works well. Used as standby for sump pumps, fridge, pole saw, hedge trimmer, tools, etc.
can use Kill-o-Watt meter also.

Continued: the mounting box is two layer of half inch Baltic birch plywood. Pulleys were idler pulleys from the mower deck drive , and one from Amazon!
I have since mounted this generator on the front of my new JD 590. Works just fine.

t 1/4 throttle, your engine only has about half it's rated horsepower. I hope that's enough to meet your needs. Nice looking job, by the way.

12 hp engine. Operators manual for the generator says 5 hp minimum. The John Deere is 25.5.

Thanks for your interest.

Btw, the white cord was going to the voltmeter and the other to a lamp just for testing and demonstrating.
I purchased the generator from Northern Tool and Equipment.

This is the way I mounted it at first. Worked ok, but low to the ground. I was afraid I would bump it on something. Harder to mount also, but less pulleys and shorter belt.
Forgot to mention, the orange tape is covering up the 240v outletsI dont need those.
The unit is held in place with the parts of two old strap hinges with the pins removed. Two spring clip pins hold in place and allows the generator to be removed easily. In this picture the weight of the generator holds the belt tight.

[qthuote="Greenfrog"](reply to post at 19:51:21 05/23/22) thanks,I could use that when working in the back woods

On the JD, I remove the mower drive belt, which is easy and just leave it lay under there, and run a belt off the pulley out to the generator. One pulley is a spring loaded tensioner pulley to keep belt tight. Easy to mount and I mount.
