Engine leaks oil after an hour or so of use. Seems like it's building some sort of pressure. Do these engines have a known problem I need to look for? Thanks in advance

Not a Kohler but a Briggs. My sister bought a new push mower. It would leak oil out the front of the engine under the head badly when she mowed the gental slope north of her house. I found the cause was the sump gasket was folded over at the factory when assembled.

Check the head bolts for proper torque. If that's the problem you will know you are onto it when you put the wrench on the loose bolt(s).

Something just came to mind. A friend had an old tractor that used to build up pressure like that. In short his rings were worn out and combustion chamber pressure was bypassing the rings and pressurizing the crankcase. Any place pressure or splashed oil could get out it did. When he shut the engine off it bled off and when starting and running it took time to get the pressure built up in the crankcase.
