Non MTD mowers

Over the years, MTD acquired the Troy-Bilt, Bolens, Cub Cadet, Craftsman (owned by its minority partner), and Yard-Man brands and/or companies.

Ariens, Husqvarna, and John Deere still make their own.
It gets confusing to some people because similar components are used
in all the mowers.

John Deere and Craftsman used a lot of similar designs and parts. Never did like either one. Back when dad was a Snapper dealer. We wouldn't trade for a Craftsman for any price. Any Deere went straight to the bone pile.

As far as I know, Simplicity is owned by Briggs and Stratton now.

Husqvarna is still their own machine, Poulan is Husqvarna's lower line, and there are some Ariens tractors that are Husqvarna products.

Up until Sears went bye-bye and Stanly Tools (China) bought the craftsman name and a big interest in MTD, most of the Sears riders were made by Husqvarna. They are all MTD products now.

About all the larger old lawn and garden tractor manufacturers have ended up under MTD ownership, including Toro and Wheel Horse.
