got this from one of my son's friends. they didnt know anything about it
It is A WI-390, What HP would this be?
I got it to fire on Gumout sprayed in the spark plug hole.
I replaced the fuel line from tank to carb, put gas in it and it immediately flooded over.
I shut the gas off and it started and ran for a minute, on what was in the carb.
I pulled the carb to check out needle and seat, float pin was stuck so I took a nail and a small tack hammer to try and free the pin and pull the float. Carb must be made of glass, as a couple of very light little taps, and the hinge pin casting broke in the middle
so I ordered a new (OEM) carb. I have a parts manual here, punched in the carb number and I found one, the listing was a different PN but also had the PN that I was looking for included in the listing (like one number replaces the other)? The new carb is different. Looks like I'm just out $80-some bucks. I was hoping to pop this carb on and flip it, but now I will probably lose on it in having to now find and buy another carb...
First thing I noticed is this thing is all metric fasteners, which means 2 strikes against it already for me.
this is the 1st of thes engines to come my way, what would this have been used on? Im used to Briggs, Tecumseh and Kohler.
I saw some imitation carbs for about 1/3 the price I paid for this one, but the fuel inlet was in the wrong place (came out the side rather than pointing up) but I may take my chances on one of these China specials just to see it go down the road.
