Our old Craftsman DLS 3500 is about shot and I looked at Husqvarna's at our nearby Sears store. Any opinions on the new Husqi's? I prefer a conventional mower. gm

I have 3 Husqvarna Lawn tractors older ones oldest being a 2002 with over 500 hrs it gets used year around summer mowing wither snowblower they have been excellent machines so far just routine maintenace all 3 of mine have the 15 hp V twin Kawasaki and all are hydros

We have a 42 inch cut hydrostatic 15 hp Husqvarna lawn tractor with the 15 hp Kawasaki that we have used for over 20 years, it has been flawless. Our son had a 54 inch z-turn Husqvarna with a Kohler that was good also, I recommend them.

I have the 46 hydrostat with the twin blade stamped deck. I bought it because I liked the way the deck is designed which resists clogging in the spring when grass is full of moisture and loves to clog up inside. Also the angle of the clippings being exited is directed more to the rear which helps to keep them out of your eyes when mowing in cross wind situations. Ive had it for well over 5 years, wearing out several sets of blades, a set of belts, and a single cylinder Kohler Courage 20 hp engine.

I did have to weld up a support to deck interface bracket where the original weld had fractured, but no big deal. I re-powered with a V twin 20 hp off ebay several years ago (do to the Courage vibrating itself to death) and it's still cutting fine. I am thinking about replacing it due to age and another just like it is on the shopping list. It will replace my aging JD L110 I wore out as a mower and made into my run around/chore Gator-ette with a large wire basket attached to the flip up hood over the engine and a 4 gallon sprayer on the back for spraying Fire Ant mounds, mowing deck removed and low pressure, soft riding, studded snow tires for traction when the fields are muddy.

I recommended it to a new neighbor who bought one but being a later model, the rage nowadays is more and more power. So theirs has a 22 hp V twin and I drove it once. 22 hp is really more than that mower needs. It's like driving a dragster off the starting line.

The seat springs are like most...similar to valve return springs on an OHV engine. I replaced them with some soft springs I found on Toro and Cub Cadet mowers. Tires are the usual garden variety turfs. I replaced them with low pressure ATV studded snow tires that I can run at 5 psig for a soft ride on my clump grass clay soil.

they are no better than a MTD glad some like them here no one keeps them over a year or two,, cheap junk,, they tried to get me to be a dealer,, no way would I push their junk,, they used to make one heck of a chain saw though, I am not JD fan but I would buy one any day of one of those

Cheap crappy machines. Throwaway quality. I
have 1 only because I got it for free.
Needs an engine, 21 hp courage knocking
badly, block cracked like they all do and
let the oil out. Right at 500 hours.
Steering is all loose and sloppy, have seen
others beside this one all about the same
condition by 500 hours. Definitely not the
machine an old IH Cub or Ariens GT or WH
was in the least. Made to a price point,
not to last. Looking for an engine to
transplant so I can dump the one I have.
