Installed new drive belts . Starting point on Spring tension on the variator ?

I usually crank the spring tension all the way up because I use my worker for pushing snow.
Most people start in the middle.
Don't forget to adjust the variator so you get all the functionality.

Thanks Steve Variator adjust is with Lever in the 3rd notch from top with the 3/4 bolt loose plug wire off ,crank the engine hold down & tighten bolt. Is that what yo mean.

Exactly. Hold that bolt down toward the ground rather than in toward the battery while you tighten it.
The manual is only clear if you already knew what they meant when they wrote it.
