Log splitter carb issue

Pulled my log splitter out to clean the carb, end of last winter it only ran with the choke on. I pulled it entirely apart, cleaned everything, put it back together, and I can still only get it to run with the choke on. The carb looks brand new on the inside and it looked perfectly fine when I took it apart too. There are no fuel mix screws either. I’m completely stumped on this one.

Not being there to see it, I can only wonder what type of engine you have, but is it possible you have some kind of air leak somewhere, intake manafold, carb?

You don't say what type of engine or how old. On the Hondas and Briggs I've worked on lately, I've had to soak them 24 hrs in lacquer thinner even thought they looked new inside. Make sure you remove all gaskets and rubber parts. After that a fine wire, spray carb cleaner and air.

You should of left it together and put some Seafoam in it, I've had good luck doing that. But it works best if you use it as soon as you sense a problem, you may of waited too long.
