Hydrostat transmission

Will the hydrpstat from a JD 160 lawn tractor interchange with the one on a JD 176. Thank you very much for your help.

Probably a Tough Torque brand. Should be a sticker on it somewhere. TT folks will help the average consumer. I had a problem on my L110, fault of my own and once I found the parts I broke, contacted them, got the parts, great service and a free Gimmie Cap. If no numbers, they may have access to what unit fits what OEM main frame and can answer that question for you, or you can maybe have some identifying marks that they can pin point to tell you what is what.

Other thing, when I got my parts, TT had a notification message in the box that the OEM oil recommended had been updated to a heavier multi-viscosity oil. Seems 20w-50 is becoming the norm for longevity.

My JD 160 is a 1987 model with a five speed gear transmission. The hydro model was the 165. You need to add the model type such as LX, LA, D, E to figure out what model transmission will fit.
