Giant vac. 5hp briggs

I have a giant vac. Leaf blower.it has a 5hp Briggs magnetron engine. It runs good for about 1/2 hour then stops.seems like it might be getting hot. Don't know much about it since it was given to me.any ideas?. Thanks.

Could be either ignition, fuel, or valve lash.

Have a spark tester at hand and check for spark immediately after it dies, or use a neon spark tester and observe if it is still flashing as the engine coasts to a stop upon failing.

Once you know whether or not it loses spark you can narrow your troubleshooting to either the ignition or fuel system.

If it loses spark the first thing I'd do is check for a mouse nest or other debris that is blocking cooling air movement around the coil (Briggs calls it an "armature") and through the cylinder cooling fins.

Carburetor main jet plugged with dirt , air leak around bowl gasket , vapor lock fuel tank cap.
Would not run if ignition,
