Kubota L225DT Transmission Problem

My old Kubota L225DT won't go into 1st or 3rd; 5th or 7th. Works fine in Reverse, and in 2nd/6th and 4th/8th. I have been using it for the past few years like this, but I have the tractor split for a new Clutch, so was wondering if I could get some advice / suggestions on how to fix the shifting problem as long as it is already split. Thanks in advance.

Should have a 4 speed transmission with a HI-LO. Which would better be known as an 8 speed.

If it will not shift between HI and LO. Check the shifting fork.

It shifts fine between Hi and Low. The forks and gears also look good, Only anomaly was that on a previous rebuild the mechanic must have
lost one of the 3 springs that hold the balls on the shift rail and replaced it with one that is shorter and much weaker so it doesn't put
much pressure on that ball. I am guessing that this is the problem, as essentially that all of the gears on the left side of the shifter
won't engage in either High or lowe, but the others all work in both Hi and Low. What do you think?
