Yes, you'll need to remove the rear platform to access the tank for removal

Hello. Yes, you need to remove the tin deck. It should have four bolts.
I have an lx178. First time off took me over half an hour. Now I can do it in about five minutes.
You also have to pull the knob for height adjustment. (15-30 seconds)

Thanks to everyone I got the tank out in about 30 min I had a small leak. I got it.It was where the valve screwed into the tank When tight it was pointing wrong direction for hose hook up.Teflon tape and a small clamp put on new hose to the fuelpump. At 82 I am a little slow.

don't worry about being too old to maintain a Deere 216. I have a 212, almost same tractor, and I am 81. Think of it as endless entertainment! Good luck.

Took valve out cleaned screen put on new fuel line new fuel pump ????? primed it before it would pump on its own. The OE carb
needle & seat didn't use a clip to pull the rubber tip needle. It runs good until the needle stick tap tap on carb, I had a new
chinese ? import carb on the shelf for times like this. Under heavy load with the load needle out 3 turns it will sputter a little
pull choke just a tiny bit and it smooths out & purrs. I am going to try the old load jet thurs.. While I have them out I will
compare the holes in both jets. I have tiny little number drills.
