Honda 4518 tractor - need mower blades

Does anyone have a source for inexpensive blades for the Honda 4518 46" mower deck? Mine are worn way down and need to be replaced. The only sources I've found all sell Honda OEM blades at $35 or so each - there are three of them. I don't mind paying the premium for Honda blades, but my lot is very sandy and the sand literally eats away at the blade, requiring frequent replacement. I even checked the sites that sell blades by length, width, thickness and hole diameter, and came up empty handed. Thanks for any help.

In real sandy soil an oem blade might last longer and be worth it. Wife bought some online for her Husqvarna, they seem fine. Our local L&M has a big inventory of aftermarket blades. Flail-Master might have them too.

Thanks for the lead. Flail-Master shows Honda in their catalog (have to call for details), but their website says closed for a reorganization. so that's not good.

I also thought the OEM would last longer, but they don't.

I just checked with 2 of the suppliers I
deal with and they both told me there are
not aftermarket blades available. You're
right about pricing on those blades, even
my dealer price is ridiculous for OEM.
Sorry I couldn't help

Only suggestion I have is this link. https://apps.oregonproducts.com/pro/lookups/selguide_bladelookup.aspx

Use it to find blade by length and center hole. Then use the Oregon number to find a source and price online.

As long as the center is ok, you can trim a slightly overlength blade to the correct size. And, Oregon Gator blades are really good.

Thanks J Hamilton and kencombs. I did try the Oregon site and can't even get close on a generic blade.

Unfortunately, I am stuck with OEM blades. I did find them locally at the best price from a Honda equipment dealer which surprised me. $35 + tax. $120 and change for three.

I did find something on Amazon for under $30 but the seller only had a single picture of a rusty blade with no part number. Couldn't even tell from the pic if it would fit.

You're welcome. It's pretty bad that I
would have to sell those blades at about
$35 each as well to barely break even on
them when most other mowers between 46" up
to 61" cut I can sell a complete set for
$35-$40 for all three. I looked at the
specs for your blades and they use a very
different center hole size is why it's
difficult to find aftermarket blades.

I can't complain about the tractor. I bought it new in 1994 and have done nothing to it except an CDI for the ignition and two front tires (and belts and those front belt sheaves of course). It has 650 hours on it with the original timing belt, water pump, starter, etc.. Burns no oil. I did buy a timing belt, water pump, etc.. some years ago to put on the shelf, just in case they become unavailable. Surprisingly, most under the hood parts are readily available.

Honda makes darn good equipment and
engines, all of our emergency equipment
such as water pumps and generators where I
work are all Honda because they're reliable
and we have a very good local dealer for
parts
