You need some DECALS on that Cub Cadet!

Dad ran into a good friend that bought our 1963 Original Cub Cadet. The tractor had a pretty poor paint job when delivered new and the dealer repainted it Red & White after we traded it for a #70 to get rid of that toothed timing belt the originals had to keep the blades in time. That original went from mowing two fairly large farmstead and half a mile of road bank to mowing an average sized city lot. But it was a really reliable tractor. When Dad found out his coffee buddy had our old Cubbie it was at least 30 years after Dad traded it. The #70 he traded it for is out in the shop, freshly rebuilt, repainted, and the decals are still in the box. My #72 I bought in 1981 is next to it. It's a '68 vintage. Have a 1980 982 with ALL the options, steering brakes, frt & rear pto, aux hyd remotes, and 3 pt hitch.
When you buy a Cub Cadet, it's like buying a life insurance policy, lasts forever!

Actually the decals are there it's just the previous owner (who buggered up the PTO clutch and stripped out the head and put the fenders on backwards and messed them up) saw the need to paint over them. Some winter I'm going to pull it down and install a new wiring harness and fix all the little things, maybe I'll paint it and get decals on it

I spent a few quality hours on my 61 original on Monday. Mowed the airport aprons. I just replaced the belts, and the spindle shaft on the left. When I bought it, both of the front mule shaft bearings were shot. Now I need an air cleaner. She runs good, only complaint is I wish there was another gear between 2 and 3.
