electronic point conversion

Hello. I have a 60 something Speedex S14 with what I think is a B&S 5 horse. I would like to update the coil and maybe go to a pointless ignition. Is this possible on these older engines? Thanks, Mike.

yes, it can be done but you have to have the correct coil with either 2 or 3 legs of lamination's before getting the correct kit from B/S.

Thanks Gene. Forgot to mention that it is a pull start so no battery if that means anything.

Pull start means nothing one thing you have to check is the flywheel magnet if the magnet is separated so it looks like 2 magnsts it will not work with the magnetron electronic coil, if thats the case find a flywheel with just a single magnet then your good to go
