Fuel injected?

Narrowed my choice down to one of 2 Cub Cadet models....price is lower than a Deere, and the Cub Cadet dealer does offer better service. But, anyway, one Cub Cadet has a Kawasaki engine, the other has a fuel injected Cub Cadet engine...any advantages one over the other?

Thanks, Ben

both would be fine the Kawasaki unit I sure is lower horse than the other option. cub last I knew never made their own engines bet its rebadged briggs unit. the mowers with Kawasaki on them in my dealership were a lot harder to sell just because you have two identical mowers with different engine options and the kawaski would always be less hp. example sold several ferris 700 units, options 18 kaw versus 24hp briggs noth wrong with them just made hard to sell because of that.. as far as fuel injected it was just another new item to sell mowers, those small engines all follow the car industry. so now its fuel injection fad. all one I have out only one small issue other that they been fine, but so have the others if customer does not put wrong product in tank like diesel fuel in gas engine etc. I could tell you lots stories on that issue.

I would wonder where the Cub Cadet engine is actually made. Kawasaki engines are some of the most popular on the market for good reason.

I am old school and I wonder why we need fuel injection on a mower engine. I was looking at a Generac portable generator at Costco about a year ago and being fuel injected I was very skeptical. I can repair a conventionally carbureted engine with few specialized parts but an injected system is ALL specialized parts.

If your battery ever goes dead the fuel injection system won't work so jumping it could be an issue (according to the reviews on the Generac from Costco).

I bought a Cub Cadet RZ54 TANK zero turn back in 2016 with a 27 hp Kawasaki V-twin. 165 hours mowing my 2-1/2 acres for 4 years and NO problems. The 19.9 hp B48G Onan in my Cub Cadet 982 would have burned up two sets of points & condensors and hard telling what all else.

Last one I dealt with was a LCT (Liquid combustion technologies) and was US designed but Chinese built

I would go with Kawasaki. In 1969 I test rode a 350 Avenger - it was a religious experience I have never forgot. I have ridden Kawasaki's 100,000 miles with no engine repairs. I currently ride a 1987 650 cc single cylinder Kawasaki with 80,000 miles and no engine engine repairs. My lawn tractor is a 2003 New Holland with a water cooled 20 HP Kawasaki, no problems. My brush mower has a 17 HP air cooled Kawasaki. My portable generators (both of them) are Kawasaki. My mule is Kawasaki.....
