Cub Cadet Hydro 382 Fluid Change

I have a Red Cub Cadet Hydro 382 that I?m trying to change the hydro fluid in and have run into some
problems. Already have the operators and service manuals and neither is clear on how to drain them so
I gave my local dealer a call. It was explained both the hydro and bottom end are conjoined and feed
HiTrans from the same reservoir so all l have to do is pull the plug on the very bottom of the housing and
both hydro and gear housing will drain through it.
All that?s come out is some gear oil, not old milky HiTrans which I can see in the reservoir, but thick fairly
clear oil and the reservoir is still full. Can anyone explain to me what I?m missing or have done wrong,
I?m pretty stuck right now.

HyTran is the correct fluid. Hopefully, that "gear oil" didn't do any damage to the Hydro Unit.

Thanks for the reply, managed to refill
the gearbox with HyTrans and it works
fine. Still can't get the hydro to drain
though.

Not sure about how the red tractors, but on the IH hydros the back cover has to come off to drain the oil. There is only one reservoir. You?ll need a new cover gasket to put it back on.
