Gravely attachments

I have a Commercial 430 and a model L8, both have mower decks. Now that I have them running I am wanting to get other attachments like snowplow, rotary plow, and tiller for starter. My question is on the snow plow; I have seen two different ones. One goes under the 430 and the other just attaches to the front, is one better than the other? I will be using the plow to move dirt that I loosen up with the rotary plow or tiller. Any advice would welcome.

First place you want to go to.....Gravely Tractor Club of America. Just start
digging around their web site. You will not beleave how much stuff was
available.

For what you are wanting to do, I would vote for the center mounted blade----if you can find one. I don't have any experience with the 400 series tractors and don't recall ever seeing snow blades for them. The "front mount" snow blades for the later model tractors were actually mounted so that the rear axles bore the force of pushing the snow.

The Gravely snow blades were designed for moving snow, not dirt. I've tried a front mount snow blade on a two wheel tractor for moving dirt and decided it wasn't worth the effort for me. My soil is heavy clay. Even after it was loosened, I could only push and inch or two at a time. Once I had gone over the loosened area a couple of times, it was packed again.

I see quite a few snow blades for two wheel tractors advertised. I see very few snow blades for four wheel tractors advertised, and those seem to be for the later model tractors. I have never seen a center mounted blade advertised for sale.

You mention wanting a tiller and rotary plow. You need to keep in mind that the tines on the Gravely tillers are very short. The tillers are designed more for chopping weeds rather than for digging up the ground.

Call Chardon Welding Here in Northeast Ohio. He has a lot of what your looking for from what remember.

The "tiller" most often found for Gravelys is the one that attaches to the rotary plow. But it's NOT a tiller. It's a power cultivator meant to go in an inch of 2 deep and that's it.

There is a guy in Clinton, Ms that has 5 Gravley s and a bunch of attachments for 1500. For all. Look on Jackson Craigslist.
