Stopped at an O'Reilly's today on the way to our sons house, had them look up a filter for his Husqvarna mower, they recommended the shorter one, so that's what I put on it. It had the longer one on before, so that's what I will buy in the future for either mower, because there is room for them. In some applications there may not be room.

Lots of good deals on Ebay with the PH 3614 filters. These fit loads of mower engines.

Yes, that's a good deal if you want to use Fram filters. We had a Mustang that would rattle on startup with Fram filters, switched to Wix and the noise went away. Not saying they're bad, I just probably won't use them again. We bought Wix from Amazon last week for $7.50 ea. no shipping.

Hi, I have 2 26hp Briggs on my mowers. Sears prices are sky high for filters. Do they cros over to something I can buy from NAPPA? ED Will Oliver BC

You might try google for "oil filter cross reference chart". hth

I'm pretty sure Napa would have a filter, and I have heard that Wix makes Nappa filters. Just make sureyou have room for a long filter if you decide the go with them.

Just saying go check Ebay. There are factory Kohler filters listed also. Not as often but they do show up.

Did you change oil types too? Did you preload filters with oil prior to installing? Only problem I had with Ford rattling was a 5 liter 1988 F150 and it would rattle every time I changed the oil for a second before the oil pressure came up......and I pre loaded my filters. Changed to Mobil 1 and never again had a rattle....same Fram filters. Actually that Ford, which I bought new and kept up the maintenance was the only engine I ever had to rattle.....that went along with the emission problems, the rear tank sending unit failing, and the paint coming off and this and that.....my last Ford!

Do a google search on Russo Oil Filter Co. Not a fly by night outfit. Who knows. They may build BS filters and other OEMs.

You can cross filter numbers on Wix's website. I order filters from fleetfilter.com. They're much cheaper if you can buy a bunch for everything you need at once.
