I have a chance to buy a 725k grasshopper mower 25hp kohler gas. 61 inch cut. 1998 with 960hrs. in good shape run good cuts good. for $3,500 . good deal or not.

I work for a Grasshopper dealer. I am not familiar with the 725k specifically, we jhave only sold them for about 5 or 6 years now. So I know more about the newer ones.

But I do know that the older Grasshoppers with the 'Gemini' transmissions made by Eaton are becoming difficult to get transmission parts for. So I guess its your call on that.

Other than that, I think their electrical wiring is unnecessarily complicated. Its difficult sometimes to pinpoint an electrical problem.

As far as the rest of the mower is concerned, they are pretty robust units.

Sounds high to me. I bought one of those a few years back, for a lot less. Used it just enough to find that one side drive was weak, slowed down when hot. sold that one as the repair cost was substantial, about what I paid for it.

way to high, I have left in new inventory ferris ztr 61 inch unit 2017-18 for about same money, never been fired, I am trying to retire out of shop
