hey all my uncle has this mower and it stopped starting on him today...there is no pwr coming fron the yellow wire to the starter solenoid..if I take wire off I can use a hand switch to start the tractor and it will run and drive ok,,it shows 12 v with a meter but will not light a test light..i looped the seat safety switch thinking that might be the problem but it would start with hand switch but die when removing the parking brake...I cant see where the wire runs to as it goes into the loom and I don't see another yellow wire except on the brake safety switch but it is a lighter gage wire.....the fuse in the system is good....all else safety wise works just not start from the key...ign works fine for spark and fuel shutoff works fine just no pwr to the solenoid..any advice is greatly apperciated

It is probably a safety switch. If it has an electric pto, one set of contacts in the pto switch is also part of the safety circuit. There is also a brake safety switch under the platform, if I recall correctly. I never worked on many Simplicity tractors.

There may also be a relay in the seat circuit just so you can't 'loop the seat switch' to bypass it.

Your best bet is to find an electrical schematic and trace the start circuit through all the switches, checking each switch as you get to it.

Just wanted to add: Sometimes the electrical schematic is in the owners or operators manual. Sometimes it is in the parts manual.
