David Bradley Question

I have a sneeky the engine is wrong too but I could be wrong. Is he going to
pay you 150 to drag it away? Hope I am not being too cynical tonight. Sorry.

Not too cynical in my opinion. I don t know much about this little machine which is why I m looking for advice. I might just keep watching for a nicer one to show near by. I just wanted something to turn over the garden so I don t have to keep borrowing my aunts rototiller.

While I'm a fan of the David Bradley garden tractors I think I'd pass on that one. With those tires you'll have trouble developing any kind of drawbar pull and to replace them with bar
lug tires is expensive. Saying the engine "ran good years ago" gives you no clue to its current condition - all junked out engines ran good years ago. Hoods are nice but completely
unnecessary. (Also, note that some models didn't have a hood.) If I was you I'd keep looking. Walk-behind tractors like this show up at auctions now and then and, at least in our area,
they tend to sell for very little.

If you like it and want a bit of a project, why not? Chains on the tires will make them grip plenty good. Might offer a bit less though. If not running it is a "parts
tractor" as you have no way of knowing what is wrong with the engine or the unit itself.

Before I went to bed last night I was looking on YouTube and found a helpful video. Sounds like they built a lot of these David bradley s because the guy was saying not to spend too much time dinking around with one that looks like a "parts tractor".

Thanks the feedback has been helpful.

That engine is wrong. Should be a Briggs and Stratton or a Continental engine on there. Don't believe that model, likely a super power, ever came with a kohler.

When I was a youngster, my uncle had a David Bradley with a snow plow on it. I used it to plow snow off the side walk. It did a pretty good job. My Grandfather had a 2 wheeled tractor called a Planet Jr. It also did a good job of plowing snow. I now have 2 DB's that needs restoring.I have a Planet Jr. that I built a trailer for it and ride around on it. I also have a David Bradley Tri-Trac that I think a lot of and wouldn't sell it for quite a sum of money. For those who don't know what they are , they have 3 wheels and you mount it like a motorcycle to drive it. Lot's of fun.

As a collectors item it might bring $25 at auction. The Kohler engine is worth that if it runs. David Bradley walk-behinds from that era
are a kind of a "dime a dozen" even with the correct engine and sheet-metal. The older steel wheel monsters from the 30s are worth more but
even those are hard to sell. I had over 100 walk-behinds when I moved out of New York five years ago. Many I could not even give away and
went for scrap. Kind of shame. Some of the more interesting ones sold okay, like a Walsh, Bolens, or Standard Twin. Nothing against Sears
or David Bradley. Just happen to be very common as far as walk-behinds go.
