Hi, I need a blade mandrel assembly for my 54" cut Poulan Pro. In my parts book it is 352 1872 91. On ebay it says 352 1872 92 fits, Sears, Poulan Pro, Husqvarna 54" cut. My question: the ebay number is 1 nbr different . Although description is right do you think its okay to order. I think the part may not be OE. But jobber made. Do you think its okay to order?. Your thoughts please. Ed Will Oliver BC

All of those big mowers are built by AYP. American Yard Products. As long as it has four bolts going into it and the photos look correct, go for it. If your mandrels are going bad personally i would just change all of them. Machine around five or six years old?? Have rebuilt both of my Husqvarna machines. Also check your idlers for noisy bearings. They are much better built mowers than MTD Hope this helped. You can also down load the owners and parts manuals off line in PDF downloads.

Here. This is better. Also make sure those air scirts are on the bottom of the deck. They are criticle.

Hi Jeffcat, your parts list shows the same nbr as mine in Poulan Pro. But ebay shows 352 1872 92. Description is the same though. I grease my mandrels properly but I guess the last time I had the blades off I didn't get one seated solidly on the star.I probably hit a root in the orchard and caused the blade to jump on the star and ate most of it. . Hate to tell you buy that grease fitting is totally boooooogus!!! If you take the spindle out of the mandrel and remove the inner rubber seal from the bearing ,and then pump the whole thing full of grease, and make sure you don't blow outer seas out of the bearings, then you can gresae them. Not worth the trouble. Each mandrel takes around a third of a tube of grease. Just take one apart, write down the bearing numbers and go on Ebay and order a ten bearing sleve of them from the outfit in Florida. MUCH CHEEPER. Just put all new bearings in yours every thre or four years. Quick and easy.

I bet Husqvarna has had 10 part numbers over the years for a spindle that would fit in your mower and work fine. The latest versions have a shoulder on the upper bearing so they don't need to run the little spacer that everyone was leaving off when they put the pulley back on.
If the Ebay seller says it fits your mower, He is probably right. Just keep in mind that if you want a grease fitting, make sure the picture shows one.

Like Jcat said below, usually the bearings have seals on them anyway. But an other manufacturer (Bobcat) says grease in the spindle aids heat transfer to the housing and recommends it even though all their spindle bearings all have seals on them.

have them laying here in parts bin if need also make sure to not overtighten the mounting screws, seen it lots times do not impact the mounting screws and make sure blade is lined up on the star.

AYP spindle shafts come with the bottom bearing installed.
The bearing must be pressed off and the new one pressed on if you are just changing the bearing.

If the housing is not damaged. You can replace all three shafts for around $35- $45. Even with an AYP part most do not come threaded for a zerk fitting now days.

Local place sells complete aftermarket spindles for AYP products for around $20 each.

Yes the part that you are looking at will fit your deck. In fact it will fit many different brand decks on some such as Cub and Deere.

Most likely you have a vented deck (spindle housing has openings or webs). If so. Keep them. The openings are not there to cut cost. They help create a vacuum under the deck that helps lift the grass and allow the spindles to run a little cooler.
