David bradley clutch adjustment.....

Ok so i just got the engine in it for my tractor and put it on and i just installed a 1.75" pulley as the drive and it was going walking speed but once i turned back up my hill the clutch started slipping so i assume it needs tightend a bit as it took off on flat ground and down a slight hill but once i came back up it wasnt going. I soaked(pb blast) the edge of the pulley thing that the adjuster nut is inside of and took the set screw out of the hole over the flat spot and i assume i need to tighten it to wear the other hole is on a flat spot or maybe even more. But, whats the trick to turning just the outter disc inward on the adjusting thing?? And if anyone has better terminology on these parts, input please lol i hate saying do-hicky here. Lol

Thanks mike

Just make sure you know the difference between a do-hickey,a thing-a-ma-bob,and a watch-a ma-call-it,Us technical types need to know .......................................gtm

Ok so from a youtube video i seen that didnt have the greatest audio, i gathered enough info to assume one of the ways to adjust the clutch is to take the do-hickey out of the thinga-ma-bob and spin the thinga-ma-bob on the whatchya-ma-call-it to tighten the space between the thinga-ma-bobs and the clutch disc plates for better/tighter clutch engagement lol. Hope all you technical folks get all that... hahaha

Ok so from a youtube video i seen that didnt have the greatest audio, i gathered enough info to assume one of the ways to adjust the clutch is to take the "set screw" out of the "clutch disc" and spin the "clutch disc" with pipe wrench on the "adjustment nut" to tighten the space between the "clutch disc" and the "clutch plates" for better/tighter clutch engagement lol. Hope all you technical folks get all that... hahaha and the other way is to thread the spring attached to engagement rod in or out on the yolk. Which i did this way cuz the other way wasnt going, evem with pb blast and pipe wrench and screw drive threw inner clutch disc hole to hold it from spinning. But eventually i need to get the first adjustment method to work cuz my spring is adjusted all the way out.... any help is appreiciated.
Thanks mike

Ok so i figured out the clutch adjustment issue im having. I actually did a quick fix by re-adjusting the spring on the end of the engagment rod which worked for now. But later down the road when it need adjusted again i dont have much play room. But the adjusting nut that is threaded on corners of nut, on my machine it appears some knuckle head put it on backwards so the two holes that you hold it with are on the inside which you cant see. Anyone ever ran into this situation and figured a way outta it???

Thanks mike
