Deere 72x seat adjustment problem.

Although I believe I have seen this before, my memory is carp. My recently acquired X724 has the same seat and base as my X729, but the seat has at least 2 inches less travel to the rear of the machine compared to the 729. It appears to be hitting a hard stop, but I cannot see what that would be. My memory would at least say it was easy once I knew the problem, but I just am not seeing it now. Any help?

Well - I found the solution on a different forum. Dirt gets in the track so tight it feels like the seat is hitting a machined stop. Sprayed water in, let it sit, repeat a few times, try to move seat again - I have full range of travel. Give 2 other mowers the same treatment - both were starting to set up in place - both are now clean.

I have to remember to add that to the post - mowing rinse.
