Hydrostatic oil

I am trying to revive an old Stiga Park mower with HST and I need to know what kind of oil do I need for the HST. The only info about the HST that I can find is that it refers to a K46. Is this an oil, or maybe a type of HST?
Thanks in advance.

Here are 2 photos. This is a Stiga Park 13-1443 and is probably made about 1999. The HST is beside the left rear, just ahead of the battery box.
The cap says oil, but I'm not sure what to use.

The Tuff Torq website has a wealth of information on the K46 transaxle, including servicing instructions, fluid recommendations, etc. They also respond to email questions.

Yes, the K46 is the hydro model number. They come with a 10w30 oil from the factory. Most of the 'experts' will recommend a 5w50 synthetic engine oil as a replacement.

Of course Tuff Torq recommends there own brand of 'special' fluid.

Having had hydro lawn mowers since they came out on a grand scale, and having done business with Tough Torque on replacement parts and continuing to purchase hydros, the general trend in lubricants is heavier, up from 30 to 50 wt, i.e.
Xw-50 full synthetic oil.

In all honesty, I don't recall if they added the adjective "motor" to the noun "oil". Only difference might be that the motor oil might have some additives that weren't needed in the hydro. What would they hurt???????? Don't know.....they don't hurt engines made of the same kind of parts and subject to much rougher operating conditions. I bought a DR Pro Z rider and it called for full syn 10w 30 Hydraulic Oil back in 2005. Only place I could find that was via an Amisol dealer online. Who knows what and where this and that are available today.
