Cub cadet model 2130 hydrostatic fluid

I am sure this is an old question: what is the equivalent fluid to use in this transmission? Manual gives a part no. 737-3055. My research comes up with many answers, the most logical being Hy-Tran. I have tractor supply premium trans fluid but don?t mind buying 2 gallons of Hy-Tran.

I don't think the 2130 is hydrostat, rather an AGS, (automatic gear system). If it were mine, it would get any 2w40 synthetic motor oil that was cheaply available.

If it new to you, be sure that you understand that the go pedal is not a speed control. Full on or off, speed set by gears. ''Feathering' pedal will damage the clutches.

Hmmm. I have probably been feathering the pedal and holding it down full way, both. I do leave the gears set at 6. So, time to read the manual again and try to adjust my driving methods. I have had this mower about 15 years. But, we have 3 different mowers, so it is not full time use. Hopefully minimal bad use. I like it because it is smaller and handy. I like the foot pedals.
