John Deere GX 70 Value

My MIL is about ready to sell her house and one of the items is her little JD riding mower. The thing looks brand new - she has a postage stamp size yard. So I am going to sell it for her. Do these things have any value? Maybe more as a collector item than a usable one?

Picked this up today - its actually a GX85, newer than I thought. Mice or chipmunks have built a nest and stored hickory nuts in the engine compartment, so its gonna be fun to clean this up and try to get it running.

Around here ( NW ILL ) if it were running decent, and mowed decent, I think it would bring around $300. Can't say about your area. Greg

I don't believe JD makes rear engine mowers any more. After cleanup, new battery, plug and fuel filter, it started right up. First guy that responded to my CL add took it for $500. Probably should have started higher - I had 3 or 4 guys lined up behind him.
