took apart a #26 Carb from a 301AS engine (not sure what the AS stands for) but how do you reset the float assembly?? I either get to much fuel or not enough fuel to make it run any help or procedures would help me Thanks

SHORT version is that with carb top inverted the float needs to be more or less level, and it's not critical down to a gnat's eyelash.

You wrote "I either get to much fuel or not enough fuel to make it run".

That makes me wonder if the carb is "running over" or if the float is not dropping enough to allow the inlet needle valve to admit enough fuel into the carb to keep the engine running???

A bent/bending float can cause either or both issues. Does the carb "run over" and flood the engine?

Give us a little more info, so we can help you!

For what it's worth, the "A" means special oil pan, and the "S" means electric start. You can down load the service manual from Kohler for the K series engines, it's free.

There are several good replys and as stated....download the Kohler mannual. Like 137 pages of pure information. I just did screen captures of most what you need. One thingsetting 5he float and needle valve, NEVER EVER push on the float!!! You just screwed up everything and it will never stop leaking gas. Must be adjusted with a good pair of short jaw needles. Have no idea why this stuff daisy chained. Plenty of information.
