hello;friend has mower madw by craftsman the model/serial number tag is worn down so as too make it impossible to order parts there is no decals on the hood it has a kohler 15.5 hp motor any other way to find out what it is.. thanks

You have a 98% chance the machine is an MTD. Any lawnmower parts place should have anything you could want. A lot of mower repair places have a "parts" department out back of the building. What parts do you need? The one exception would be if it is a really large Garden tractor then it most likely would be a AYP machine. Much better built unit.

A picture would help. At least we could probably identify the manufacturer.

Most of the Craftsman riders were made by Electrolux or Husqvarna. A few were made by MTD and some by Briggs Power Products(Briggs and Stratton/Simplicity/Murray.

I would think most small engine shops can get you belts, spindles and idler pulleys. They may need the old part to match up.
