On my nice little cub cadet 46 inch hydro with the Kohler engine. LTX-1045. Last year the rear idle pulley started hissing when you let the clutch out. You know, pulleys with the minimum of grease in them. Well now one of the others is noisey. Went to the local dealer and talked to the parts guy. He is very helpful and really knows his stuff. Told him the flat one is making noise now. First thing he does is starts laughing. When he finnaly stops he starts asking me about long handled tappit wrenches and if I like taking lawn mowers apart. Smart arss. Then he said it will be better to take the fenders off. Again he is standing there with a big stupid grin on his face. He isn't kidding. The two pulleys that move back and forth. the actual "clutch" are flat up against the bottom off the tractors frame with maybe 1/4 inch clearance. You need to get a lock nut off. This project just turned into a big sometime this spring project. Will follow up on this in a month or two. Going to be best just to change both of them at one time!!! You can see to the left the nice clean one from last year. The two others will be replaced. By by for now
