The wire on the back of the coil broke off flush with the coil. Is there a way to repair this?

If you've got a steady hand, you might be able to enlarge the hole in the coil backing enough to be able to stick a stranded replacement wire on the a drop of solder, then secure and insulate it with a bit of epoxy.

Some guys have completely rewound coils of this type with new magnet wire, there's some info at the links below.

Also, try a 'net search for "rewinding PTO clutch coil".

Even better...there is a manufacturer in Florida called Extreme. Brand new very high quality and under 100 bucks. I have one on my Husqvarna going on three years and works perfectly. One of the repair guys I know has put close to 100 of this outfits clutches on. Call them with your information and they will match you up. Boca Ratone area. Not worth the hassle.

Thanks for the info. Found the website and they have what I need. It is for the deere 120000 and up serial number. will call tomorrow and order. Thanks again.

They send directions and any adapter needed between years. Also send a brand new bolt for the engine shaft. A good unit.:)

Called this morning and they do not have one for my jd 216 mower. I thought the one for the 120000 and up looked right. May try and fix old one or get one on ebay.
