John Deere lx172 op manual

Just got a JD lx172 mower tractor. What is source for operator manual? Can someone tell me anything about it? I think the electric pto clutch is frozen up. According to info I have located it has a Kawasaki FC420V1 engine, engine says it is series K. I think this was sold by a non JD dealer

There's lots of LX172 Operator's and Tech manuals on ebay, $17 and up.

Or you can call DEERE Technical Publications @ 1-800-522-7448, with credit card in hand and order direct.

thanks Bob. trying to find op manual for engine also Kawasaki shows lots of other series manual but not the FC. Is that strickly JD?

I would think tractor op manual would cover the engine, as well.

Dunno if that would answer your "operating" questions tho?

We have a 2001 Husqvarna 1542HS with a Kawasaki engine, and it has been very reliable, only routine maintenance. I adjusted the valves last year and I found numerous videos online with the procedure, you just have to pick a good one. Some people that post videos don't have a clue! On any modern engine with the automatic decompression feature it's more important to follow the proper procedure.
