Hi everyone. Wanted to see if I could get your input on a recent purchase. I picked up a 68 112 for $50.00. It looks to be complete, except the motor (Tecumseh). The cam broke, and someone took it apart, but reassembled it and left off a few parts. From what I can tell after totally disassembling it, was that it all looks good except the cam. It snapped in half and sheared off about 1/3 of the teeth on the gear. The valves, springs, tappets and other gears look fine. The piston, rings and cylinder have minimal wear and the crank and rod look fine. It's missing the fuel pump, starter, battery, and possibly some governor linkage parts, but that's about it. The tractor has the variator, manual lift and PTO sheave, mule drive, good tires and rims, all the controls, and was repainted recently. I got an operators manual so I could see how everything works and it seems like it would be a decent tractor if it was running. I guess my main question is do you think it would be worth fixing it? From what I found on ebay, I can probably get all I need for about $200.00. I have a JD 300 as well, and have had a 212 and a 140 H3 in the past. They were all good machines. I'm used to working on the Kohler's, but the Tecumseh seems pretty decent. I was thinking of just parting it out, but now I'm having second thoughts. Any ideas? Thanks!
