Usually I'm on the Ford 9N2N8N forum but I also have my Jake built tractors. I pulled my Jacobsen built White lawn tractor out of storage. I pulled the spark plug and rolled the engine over by hand. I poured some MMO into the cylinder and rolled it over again. While that soaked, I pulled the battery cables and cleaned them, cleaned the spark plug and checked it. I installed a new battery. I poured some fresh gasoline into the tank and some starting fluid into the intake and the cylinder. I installed the plug and hit the key. I'll be danged! It fired over but did not run. I added some more starting fluid and hit the key again. Fired several times and died. OK. Once more. It did run rather ragged but ran for about 12 seconds and smoked like crazy. OK. I'll pull the carburetor and clean it when I get back home this week-end.
I'm on a mercy mission in Springfield, Ohio tomorrow and then going to the Air Force Museum in Dayton for a couple days.
