Is anyone familiar with these taillight assemblies on a Cub Cadet (1970s IH built ) 1450? Mine are missing the bulbs, lenses, and who knows what else. Just trying to fix this one up on a budget ajsnwanting to keep original if possible.

For the front light....it is being held in with scrap electrical wire. What holds it in the screen wire? Just the rubber gasket? How to fix?

Needing help to know if the assemblies are broken and if any partsbare kissing other than bulbs and lenses. Also need to know where to find used parts.

As to the tailights, they are just basic red truck clearance lites.

If they have to be 100% original I can't help you, but if "close" is good enough, stop at an auto parts store that has a tailite dispay and have a look.

Yes the rubber ring holds the light in the screen. Cut the wire holding the light on the left, remove the rubber from the light. You should see a ring cut around the rubber , pull the front of the rubber through the wire screen as the light on the right and then push the light in the rubber from behind. Note most of these have a reference notch in the rubber that matches with a boss on the light , this keeps the light / lens in the proper orientation and from spinning in the rubber. A little lubricant on the rubber will aid in installing the light into the rubber.

Thank you all. I'll just look for new marker lights I guess. Much cheaper than OEM lights. I'll check out the rubber ring and make sure it doesn't need replacement.

The headlights are held in by #[b:404d04eec0]IH-107333-C2[/b:404d04eec0] Mounting Ring. You can still find these on the internet.

The Tail Light Assembly (IH-545616-R1) is NLA from Cub Cadet. However, the [b:404d04eec0]1895[/b:404d04eec0] Lamp is available in any Auto Parts Store.

The lens (IH-55187-C1) is available from: [b:404d04eec0] https://www.ccspecialties.org/electrical.html[/b:404d04eec0]

As stated prior, IF you are not concerned about being OEM correct, many Truck "clearance lights" will fit in there.

Wanted to share what I found today. I found some universal marker lights that should resemble the OEM lights close enough and should work well. Hoping the bolt pattern lines up but if not it isn't a big deal to bondo a hole and drill another. Have a look at these.....they look close to a factory look without looking too gaudy or "not original looking" like the rounded ones.

Now you did some good hunting on those. Here is what you need to
remember. Originally those rear markers were just safety reflectors.
No light bulbs in them. My Big Husqvarna was set up with just
reflectors like that. She now has a set of LED markers "tail
lites"that look just perfect. Just be careful of your wireing so as
not to pinch anything. If you have wires hanging here is a super duper
trick. A glass cutting shop should have this. Get hold of some of that
white double sided sticky mounting tape. Comes in rolls like two or
three inches wide and maybe twenty or thirty feet. They should have a
partial roll to sell you. That stuff is incredibly sticky!! "The
commercial stuff". Clean the surface underneath with a little thinner.
Position the wires. Then cut a inch or so wide bandaid size piece of
that tape. Hold the wire and stick on the tape. It will not fall off
in your life time. Works fantastic. There are also plastic clip things
with that tape on them but they just don't stand up. The only easy way
to remove that tape is with paint thinner. Hope I helped!

Thanks for the tip. Actually this model 1450 original came with tail lights from the factory so the wires are already there!
