Well, I removed and cleaned the gas tank, on it, put a good battery in it, and changed out the starter-generator, and found NO spark at the points. I removed and cleaned the points, and re gapped them, and found NO fire, coming from the flywheel mag, to the points. Due to the difficulty, accessing, the mag, without tearing the whole body apart, I abandoned the wire to the points, and also the original plug wire! I mounted a 12vt car coil, on a head bolt, and ran a wire from the neg post on the coil, to the condenser screw on the points. I put a plug wire in the coil wire hole, on the coil, and a hot wire from the key switch, to the plus post, on the coil, put some gas in the tank, and fired it up. I t needed the carb cleaned better, but will sit and run ok. I tried the hydro drive, and it will try to go in either direction. I removed the cover on the loader hydraulic resivour, and it was very low. I poured in 2 qts of hytran, replaced the cover, and tried the front loader, and it works well, without leaks. I don't care for a trip bucket, but that is what I have! I still have to replace the key switch, seat, and put the hood back on, and then maybe I can take it for a test ride.

Good one Ralph. I did the same to mine a few years ago, this summer the exhaust seat seemed to be coming out after 20 odd minutes of run time. I think I'm going to go for a repower with a 14hp Kohler while I go through the Briggs.
