Hi any one have a K341S 71343 Deutz-Allis Kohler engine that runs good for sale? Or someone I can contact to purchase? To go into a Deutz 916 would also fit some simplicity models as well...Would like to keep original if possible rather than repower with different engine. Thanks in advance!! Matt

Normally I would but, it threw a rod and broke the camshaft and crankshaft journal also got scored as well as the cylinder wall which will now have to be bored out.

You haven't priced Kohler parts in a LONG LONG LONG TIME! I rebuilt a Cub Cadet spec K241 about 5 years ago, Everything was $100 or more. Stellite exhaust valve, seal/gasket kit, conn rod, all $100, piston and rings over $200. I used a lot of Stens parts in that rebuild.

I doubt you can rebuild with the cheapest imported parts and a little machine work for $200. I had cylinder bored & honed +.010", valves ground, head planed, crankshaft ground -.010", and bill was $130.

Yes, I know that Kohler parts are ridiculously overpriced.
You can spend several hundred dollars on parts, plus several hundred dollars in machine work if you want.
Most of us aren't that proud.
Parts from Stens at an automotive parts store, or online kits are the way to go.

Good cranks and cams are readily available.
New rings and nothing else might get you by in the short term, but
the cylinder should usually be bored for a good overhaul.
If the scoring is bad, a repair sleeve works.
